Introduction
Welcome to GLiTCH.
GLiTCH is the biggest Dutch community built around a shared love for arcade culture. At its core, GLiTCH is about arcade machines, games, making, tweaking, repairing, learning, sharing knowledge, and most importantly enjoying the hobby together. Which includes 'slap ouwehoeren met elkaar' 😄
We want GLiTCH to be a place where people can:
- enjoy the love for arcade games and arcade culture
- work on their own projects
- learn from each other
- share knowledge and document it
- meet other people with similar interests
- attend and organize community events
- feel welcome, safe, and part of something enjoyable
What GLiTCH is
GLiTCH is meant to be a fun, accessible, and practical community.
It is a place for people who like arcade machines, restoration, technical tinkering, consoles, microcomputers, and related hobby culture. Some people come mainly to build or repair. Others come to learn, talk, help, play, document, or simply enjoy being around others who share the same interest.
GLiTCH is not only about owning machines or already knowing a lot. It is also for people who want to discover, contribute, and grow into the hobby.
GLiTCH does not have a formal location; however, we have a gathering space, generously donated by the National Dutch Videogame Museum.
Despite that the wiki is in English, the primary language spoken at the community is Dutch, however everybody is welcome!
What this wiki is for
This wiki is the shared knowledge base of the GLiTCH community.
It exists to help us:
- document machines, games, and technical knowledge
- keep track of restoration projects and ideas
- share practical information with the community and outside
- make knowledge easier to find for both new and existing members
- preserve what we learn, instead of letting it disappear in chats or conversations
In other words: this wiki helps turn shared enthusiasm into shared knowledge.
What you can find here
This wiki includes information about:
- Arcade machines — cabinets, hardware, controls, monitors, parts, and maintenance
- Games — titles, genres, history, and recommendations
- Consoles and microcomputers — systems, setups, modifications, and related hobby knowledge
- Projects and restoration — repairs, rebuilds, experiments, and work logs
- Community and events — activities, meetups, workshops, and collaboration
- Rules and guidance — practical agreements, safety, conduct, and community expectations
What kind of place we want GLiTCH to be
GLiTCH aims to be:
- social — a place to meet, talk, build, play, and share
- practical — with room for projects, experimentation, and learning
- welcoming — not only for experts, but also for curious newcomers
- safe — both physically and socially
- inclusive — not a closed scene or a boys-only environment
- community-driven — shaped by the people who contribute to it
What GLiTCH is not
GLiTCH is explicitly not meant to be:
- a highly formal or corporate environment
- a purely competitive or e-sports-focused club
- a place only for people who already own arcade machines
- just a storage space for equipment
- a copy of work life or a private home setup
- a community where only a small inner circle belongs
The goal is to build something lively, enjoyable, useful, and shared.
Public, members, and board areas
Some parts of the wiki are public, while other parts are meant for members or board members only.
- The public area contains open knowledge about machines, games, systems, projects, and community information
- The Members Area contains member-only practical information and internal resources
- The Board Area contains governance-related and formal board information
Where to go next
- Explore arcade machines
- Browse games
- See consoles and microcomputers
- Visit projects and restoration
- Read about the community and events
- Read the rules and ethics
- Learn how to contribute
GLiTCH is built by the community.
Whether you contribute a machine page, a repair note, a photo, an event idea, a project log, or just a small correction, every useful contribution helps make this community stronger and more enjoyable for everyone.
